Leading manufacturers declare support for the FISITA 2008 World Automotive Congress, Munich

Audi, BMW Group and Daimler are Main Sponsors of the prestigious event. Evonik Industries AG, SGS Group, TÜV SÜD and ZF already confirmed as Gold Sponsors, Connexis as Silver Sponsor.

The 32nd FISITA World Automotive Congress, to be held in Munich , Germany , from 14- 19 September 2008 , is already receiving strong support from the highest levels of the German industry. Audi, BMW Group and Daimler (formerly DaimlerChrysler) are already on board as the main event sponsors. Leading suppliers Evonik Industries, SGS, TÜV SÜD and ZF are confirmed as Gold Sponsors. Hosted by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) FISITA 2008 will take place at the International Congress Centre Munich (ICM), a state-of-the-art venue in the heart of one of Germany 's leading automotive engineering regions. More than 50 different topics will be discussed during the four-day programme, reflecting the vital role of engineers worldwide in solving the current and future transportation challenges facing society.

Under the chairmanship of Dr Michael Paul, Executive Vice President, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, the Congress will address 12 key themes: mobility concepts; man-machine interaction; electronics; future powertrain solutions; vehicle concepts; vehicle safety; virtual reality; simulation and testing; resources and ecology; process challenges in changing economies; chassis development for cars, trucks and buses, and body design for cars, trucks and buses.

Since then, the event has been hosted by a different national FISITA member society every two years, making it the world´s longest established international conference on automotive engineering.
