h and near to the beautiful landscape of the Bavarian Alps. Even it is the third biggest lake in Bavaria, it is still relatively unknown, which makes a visit even more attractive.
During the tour you will visit the cloister Andechs, which is not only a pilgrim attraction but also a famous beer brewery, and enjoy a boat trip over the lake to Diessen, one of the beautiful villages with an historical market.

The cloister in Wessobrunn is known as the home of the "Wessobrunner Schule" (School of Wessobrunn). The artists went from here to all over Europe to build up more than 3000 churches, cloister and castles in the style of the South Bavarian Baroque.
After visiting the monastery you can see evidence of the famous stuccowork in the Wieskirche, the Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour, in Steingaden. This beautiful church belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage since 1983 and attracts many pilgrims year by year.

The trip includes a visit of the Sixtus Church in Schliersee and the open air museum "Wasiland", where you can experience life as it has been in an original Bavarian village in the countryside in the early 18th century.

Day Trip Neuschwanstein Castle and Wieskirche

The setting of the "Fairytale castle" could not be more idyllic. Located on a mountain top, the fascinating external design and the interior architecture reflect the style of German Romanticism of the early 13th century. The entire complex has been lined with limestone ashlars from the nearby quarry "Alter Schroffen".
Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. Every year it attracts 1,3 million people; in summer sometimes more than 6000 visitors a day stream through rooms that were intended for a single inhabitant.
After visiting the castle we are driving on to the famous Wieskirche, belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage since 1983.

This tour offers an excellent impression of the city as we pass the most famous sights on the way to the Palace of Nymphenburg.
The Palace was built as the summer residence of the Bavarian Electors in 1664. The cube shaped building with the outside staircase was the foundation of this wide baroque complex and the beautiful park area which invites visitors to a walk. Also the interior of the palace is very popular, especially the Gallery of Beauty.
