Automotive Electric Drives - An Overview
The paper provides an overview of high-performance automotive electric drives and represents a new contribution in this domain. Aspects regarding automotive applications (requirements, performance, constraints), electric motor/drive technologies comparison, motor design, materials, manufacturing technologies, motor control, power electronics, energy management, energy efficiency, fault tolerance, and costs will be presented. Case studies related to (active) steering, braking and high-speed applications will be considered.
