Simulation of Standard Emissions Test Cycle in a Bench Dynamometer
This work describes an electronic control system developed to simulate the standard emissions test cycle FTP-75 in a bench dynamometer. The system is consisted of purpose built software and hardware that simultaneously control engine rotational speed and dynamometer load. The control system was tested in a production engine mounted in a hydraulic dynamometer. Despite the high dynamometer inertia, the system adequately reproduced the emissions test cycle.
